Safe Place is a program designed for kids in crisis.  Crisis to a child can range from being separated from adults to being lost, abused, depressed, dealing with drugs or alcohol and more.  Safe Place gives youth the ability to contact help when and where they need it most, in their own neighborhoods.  By developing "Safe Places", a group of local businesses and public locations, kids can be connected with the adults and agencies already in place to help youth with the problems they face.

Our children deserve the opportunity to have a happy and healthy family life.  Safe Place gives young people one more choice that they can make when they need someone to talk to.  Safe Place works to bring kids back in touch with family members and eliminate dangers they may face.

How Safe Place Works

Any youth can walk into a business or community building displaying the diamond shaped Safe Place sign and ask for help.

The Safe Place location employee calls the Safe Place agency and helps make the young person comfortable until a trained volunteer arrives.  The youth is transported to the youth service agency if counseling or residential assistance is needed.  Once there, counselors talk with the young person.  They make sure the youth and their families receive the help and professional referrals they need.  Safe Place works to bring families back together.

All Safe Place services are Free and Confidential.
